DIESEL PRIEST

Angelspit’s tenth album “DIESEL PRIEST”
December 03, 2021
CAT: BPRP46
UPC: 655365950899

I think the greatest power here is how the lyrics effect 16 year old me as well as 44 year old me with both the passion and intelligence. This album is an experience that hits on so many levels. Von Rock, Angelspit.
Ken, Sound&Shadows
This is certainly another great addition to Angelspit’s discography…a definite recommendation.
You would think heading towards 10 albums into an artist’s career would require a massive evolution or result in said discography becoming rather stale. However, none of these things have applied to the Australian Electro-Industrial project led by Zoog Von Rock, Angelspit.
VMPYRE, POPARTAVE
“Diesel Priest” is both an entertaining and thought-provoking album. After almost twenty-years in the business and countless albums, it’s no wonder Zoog Von Rock has a hold on things so much…it’s an album that can be appreciated just for it’s blistering electronic beats, but it can also be listened to for a deeper and further message.

ARTIST STATEMENT:
“The horror of the last 18 months inspired confronting lyrics and music. The non-stop flood of doctored news and benign entertainment has rendered us numb. We are more moved by the death of our favorite TV character than real people dying under terrible circumstances. We are binging social media like gluttons and mindlessly thumbing through it. Genuine interpersonal contact and substance have evaporated. This is addictive behavior on a mass scale.
We have built ourselves a comfortable prison, and each thoughtless choice is another brick.
We built it – not the algorithms or the corporations. It is the perfect reflection of what we want – cheap, bland and disposable.
I want this album to remind you that life is about taking risks and learning for yourself. Let ‘Diesel Priest’ be your wrench to throw in the machine.”
– Zoog Von Rock, Angelspit.

The Ignorance Cartel – Angelspit’s 2020 Album
#industrialmusic # cyberpunk #ebm #electroindustrial #industrialrock
Harsh driven edgy political angry distorted synth horror

Angelspit’s 9th album ‘The Ignorance Cartel’ features 14 tracks and is faster and heavier than previous releases. Containing distorted driving beats, earthquake inducing bass, brash lyrics, aggressive guitars and abrasive synths collide to create a monster unfit for our times.

En Tze Loh and Zoog Von Rock team up to make artwork steeped in ancient mysticism and data-glitched symbolism.

Featuring guest vocals from Brian Graupner (Gasoline Invertebrate) and Melody (Queen of the Static Opera).

Written in LA in the 12 months leading up to the Covid outbreak and produced during the turmoil of the worldwide pandemic lockdown.

The album’s central concept is driven by the rise of Authoritarianism and the subtle mind-control of AI algorithms dictating what we see.

THE IGNORANCE CARTEL is distributed through Black Pill Red Pill and is available on all digital services.

Bang Operative – Angelspit’s 2019 Album
DARK MENACING DRIVING // CYBERPUNK Vs SYNTHWAVE

ANGELSPIT’s 8th album BANG OPERATIVE is influenced by the Synthwave sound of 1978-1981. Written and recorded in Los Angeles, the album is inspired by the city’s sprawling dystopia.

“BANG OPERATIVE is a head-on collision of Cyberpunk and Synthwave, using massive swirling synths, distorted drums and crushing guitars to create sonic clouds as thick as LA smog.”
– Zoog Von Rock, Angelspit.

The lyrics are dark and personal, commenting on stimulation-addiction, isolation, loneliness and the mayhem of modern life while balancing at the edge of sanity.

Several tracks feature dueling male/female vocals with English vocalist Cherry Bligh – who brings a new aggressive edge to ANGELSPIT’s sound.

BANG OPERATIVE is distributed through Black Pill Red Pill and is available on all digital services.

Miss Ballistic – “Blood and Glitter”

A murder of beauty queens…and only one tiara.
Nasty music for nasty women who are empowered, defiant and over it – Miss Ballistic is part electro-pop band, part all-girl bar brawl. If you like electro girl pop with a twist, you’ll LOVE Miss Ballistic.
Produced by Industrial strength Hellectro outfit Angelspit, Miss Ballistics’ debut album “Blood and Glitter” packs a punch with 10 electro riot tracks. Featuring the vocals of Carley Girl, Maeze, Cel and Melanie Jade, “Blood and Glitter” will turn dance floors into a blitz with infectious sweet girl vocals, pop hooks and pounding beats.
On the surface, Miss Ballistics’ lyrics are light-hearted blood thirsty tales about winning a beauty pageant, but underneath are filled with strength and determination. Tackling issues of body image, the beauty myth, unwanted physical contact, the press’s lust for youth and the unachievable body image still being projected onto women everywhere.

“Violence is served as entertainment everywhere. It’s our turn to be aggressive and share an empowering message dripping with glitz and glamour.”

Black Pill Red Pill

Angelspit is a real sonic phenomenon…Brutal and sexy, violent and hot, ‘Black Dog Bite’ is pure sonic dynamite!
Side-Line Magazine
‘Black Dog Bite’ is a powerful and bold album…In essence it is very old school yet experimental, rocky, fresh and above all, very danceable. It is an album that wants to combine unmistakable fun and innovation, with a clear emphasis on fun!
Frank Raasch, Polyprism
This is a strong album. Perhaps Angelspit’s strongest so far…’Black Dog Bite’ shows that Angelspit are serious hitter in the electronic music world and are still innovating with the best of them.
Sean Palfrey, Intravenous Magazine
It’s truly awesome and you get what the label on the album promises…if you like Industrial/Electropunk music in general, then you need to buy the new Angelspit album. We recommend this Industrial/Electropunk masterpiece strongly to you.
– Thomas Frenken, Electrozombies
The album delivers on its promise to be “Tough as F*ck,” remaining true to the band’s aesthetic of electrified industrial sounds and punk/rock individualism, while continuing to incorporate new approaches to avoid stagnation.
Ilker Yücel, ReGen Magazine
This is a way-above-average example of electro-metal done well and is absolutely worth the price of admission.
Stuart Bruce, Chain D.L.K
This band is the full sonic assault…Black Dog Bite is absolutely brutal, independent and sounds unique. This is real art! The new work can be seen and heard. Perfect!
Riccardo Oldenburg, Dark Music World

Black Dog Bite – Angelspit’s 2017 Album

Remember those days when Angelspit would inspire you to throw your office chair though your monitor? …well those days are back!

Angelspit’s 7th studio album DESTROYS with 12 tracks writhing with classic ultra-brutal beats, machine-gun sampled guitars, massive dirty synths, and scathing vocals clamping down on your ears.

This album is brutal, sexy, and cynical. The music is firmly based in the slamming sound of early 90s cyberpunk with shards of gritty, lo-fi, digitally tortured samples.
Angelspit worked tirelessly for months on the mixes, polishing the details in the layers of distortion, seamlessly merging industrial electro punk and slick production: this is the band’s most highly produced album to date.
Black Dog Bite is sonically dense, well defined, yet harsh and driven.

I want you to see the sonic detail of the razor-blades as they slash you. I want you to hear the sounds
being torn apart, bit crushed, frequency tortured and splintered – as if it’s blood is being splattered.”
– Zoog Von Rock, Angelspit.

The lyrics are personal with a twist of sarcasm – rooted in the difficulties of dealing with political chaos, consumerism, the daily grind, social media, feeling outcast, heartbreak and depression…all delivered with wicked teeth through Angelspit’s harmonic singing and yelling.

Black Dog Bite has the sound and message for a society going through major upheaval.
IT’S TOUGH AS FUCK.

Black Dog Bite is the first album Angelspit has produced on vinyl. Pressed on 150gram vinyl with heavy splattered black and white pattern. The LP comes with a poster, stickers and a zine.
Also available as MP3 album, 96k FLAC, CD.
