BLOOD DEATH IVORY

Blood Death Ivory

Angelspit’s 2nd Album

bdi_angelspit-300

Their incredibly unique sound and attitude remain, but with a slight tweaking of theme and mood. Blood Death Ivory does not disappoint and is sure to tickle Angelspit’s ever growing fan base.  – ReGen Magazine (Trubie Turner)

This is electro-industrial music at its best: this is probably what the new EBM is or should be now. – Chain DLK (Marc Urselli-Schaerer)

This is what electropunk should sound like. Angelspit defines the future musical framework for this genre on Blood Death Ivory. – Gothtronic Webzine (TekNoir)

With their highly acclaimed debut album Krankhaus and their impressive visceral live performances, Angelspit have cemented themselves as being one of the most innovative new industrial bands. With their merciless dual vocal assault, intense electronic mayhem and murderous guitars, Destroyx and Zoog have thrilled and revolted countless audiences globally. Angelspit’s subversive visuals are equally confronting- as their unique brand of vicious fashion and hellish aesthetics influence a new wave of cyber punk music, fashion and art.

Angelspit have returned with a new barrage of ballistic electro punk in their new 11 track album Blood Death Ivory. The album will continue to blow fans away and disgust the status quo, as Angelspit experiment with sonic brutality combined with infectious and chemically sweetened melodies. Their tortured synthesizers, crushing bass and stomping beats get into your head and up to no good. Angelspit’s fierce yet seductive vocals distort beauty with chaos, doing violence to conservativism, apathy and a society fixated with consumerism. With the massive sounding Blood Death Ivory, it’s clear that Angelspit won’t be silenced.

angelspit-hideous_and_perfect-300

From start to finish Hideous and Perfect is a smartly written powerhouse of an album, magnificently improving on Angelspit’s previous work while maintaining the band’s distinct sound and feel.” – Trubie Turner, ReGen magazine

When you couple this with the themes thrust out by the twelve tracks of deviousness on offer…you can see that this is not only some kind of a concept album (perhaps, without intent) but also something that has the capability to hit home, hit hard, and hit with stealth. The band’s audience will happily ‘eat distortion’. – Sphere Magazine

…the more you walk through their sonic universe the more you are convinced that they perfectly know what they’re doing. This album sounds like a big kick in your ass or Mike Tyson hitting you right in the face! It’s hard and merciless, cold and powerful or yet wild and kinky! With songs like “Making Money”, “Sleep Now”, “Channel Hell” and “Princess Chaos (featuring Donna Lynch)” the new Angelspit hits really hard! This band is definitely an unique sonic experience while their artwork also deserves a special mention.   – Side-line.com

For an album which basically extends its middle finger at the conventions of electro-industrial and EBM genres, Hideous and Perfect has amazingly strong production values and a clean style that balances out the raw, rough instrumentation and harsh lyrics. The result is a mix that will make your heart race and your fists clench, but won’t exhaust your ears with an oppressive blanket of distortion. On a good system (decent headphones work too, but not as well), you can hear even the tiniest synth patterns creeping in the background, even as you’re being bludgeoned with huge industrial riffs and sternum-stabbing bass.  – Fear.net

Hailed as being one of the most innovative new industrial bands Angelspit return with a new album Hideous and Perfect, a confronting audio visual statement set to corrupt listeners the world over.

Hideous and Perfect promises to be Angelspit’s darkest release to date with its sonic textures ranging from hard pounding beats, to organic atmospheric samples, topped off by a feverishly powerful male and female dual vocal assault. The duo’s sonic exploration and creative         process took them out of the studio, as they recorded much of the album’s pounding industrial percussion at an abandoned shipping yard in Sydney Harbour. They fashioned and sampled handmade acoustic and electronic instruments, imparting a unique organic sonic texture to Hideous and Perfect, while also giving a nod to the experimental roots of industrial music.

Hideous and Perfect is a vicious concoction of industrial guitar riffs, clever hooks and pathologically disturbed synths. Consisting of 12 harsh, heavy and deliberate tracks set to self destruct, Hideous and Perfect is challenging as it is catchy. The cyber punk track Ditch the Rest opens the album, with its crunching malicious guitars and aggressive percussion setting the dynamic for the rest of the album. Cold Hard Cash follows combining deceptively sweet vocals with grinding rhythms and anarchic synth melodies. The tracks range from the hypnotic pounding analogue hell of Sleep Now, to the elegantly deranged Let Them Eat Distortion and to Fuck the Revolution’s brutal and unforgettable rock and roll trip to insanity. Cinematically chilling instrumental tracks provide some respite from the album’s intense mood. Zoog and Destroyx’s turbulent vocal onslaught deals thematically with an apathetic cashed up society who are simply ‘bored to death’. Angelspit’s double edged lyrics can be poetically poignant, at other times witty, but are at all times severely potent.

Angelspit’s aesthetic concept is equally as iconic as their musical statement, as they continue to develop their fierce design and fashion aesthetic. Visually arresting photography and bold typography characterises the album’s striking artwork making Hideous and Perfect a defining album of the industrial genre.

Angelspit’s new remix CD “Larva Pupa Tank Coffin” mutilates the darker side of Electro with 4 new tracks and 7 remixes (3 by Angelspit) giving a deadly 11 track remix CD.

Angelspit has once again produced stunning and elaborate artwork with help of Australia’s leading fashion Photography crew (Photography: Helen White, Makeup: Karen Hopwood, Hair: Lyndall Vile & Lynn Nguyen, Photo shoot Assistance: Warren Beaton, Clare Beaton, Garrick Charter, Brad Wylie, Hugh Burley,Tama & Sasha (Outsight). Shot at the massive Studio Kite in Sydney Australia.

The remix CD will also be accompanied by a new video for the track “Sleep Now” by Thomas Marcusson, Stephanie Rajalingam and Ole Magnus Saxegard.

Remixers include Australia’s veteran Electro-Industrial master Dave Foreman (Tankt), US/European Electro wizard Mark Knight (Cage 23), and Koe Soleil’s mix of Harsh Euro-Electro and Visual Kei (Noir du’Solei). Combined with Angelspit’s self-massacred remixes, “Larva Pupa Tank Coffin” is guaranteed to make you bleed.

The four new Angelspit tracks include:

“Twenty6Hundred” is a fast and furious vixen driven track with a hard hitting dirty edge. This track was recorded with a 70s punk approach, inwhich Destroyx’s vocals were recorded in one take without rehearsing, and Angelspit’s huge Doepfer Modular Synthesizer was imporvised live.

“Not born, Hatched” is a distrubing instrumental that drags you through an 80s sci-fi noir with a v8 driven intensity. It features a chaotic solo by Zoog, where he plays an electronic musical instrument which Angelspit designed specifically for this track.

“Hell was made Flesh” is an excersise in self reflection and slow anhillation. The track features several large scale acoustic instruments built by Angelspit to create a uniquely haunting atmosphere.

“Massive” is a completely new style from Angelspit – blip-pop meets pixelated vocoder funk with frantic beats, fat gameboy sounds and all the psycho-brat energy typical of Angelspit.

CARBON BEAUTY

angelspit-CB-cd-300Hideous and Perfect Remix CD #2

RELEASED March 8th, 2011
Featuring three new tracks plus 10 remixes, with accompanying music videos

CAT# BPRP18
UPC: 0782388070324

March 8, 2011 – Cyberpunk outfit Angelspit launch a full-frontal assault with the release of Carbon Beauty, the second installment in Angelspit’s Hideous and Perfect remix series, through Black Pill Red Pill Records.

“We told contributing artists to make the most savage and pounding remixes possible,” says Angelspit’s ZooG, “resulting in 10 tracks guaranteed  to splinter dance floors and cause bodily haemorrhage.”  The contributing artist line-up includes tweaker, 16 Volt, Ego Likeness, Baal, Dope Stars Inc. and more.

Angelspit also brings three exclusive tracks to the album, featuring guest musicians Valerie Gentile and Chris Kling (Hanzel und Gretyl, Mortiis). The album will also include a stunning visual element, with artwork and photography shot by Helen White.

Angelspit will “smash a stake through heart of God” again with a brand new music video for the Carbon Beauty track “Toxic Girl,” directed by Tamas Mesmer.

“Carbon Beauty is an exercise in brutality,” says ZooG. “Angelspit is hell-bent on waking Punk from its slumber.”

“…Again, while not being a huge fan of remix albums, this one is a keeper. With only a handful of forgettable moments and reworks by fantastic bands like Army of the Universe and 16volt, this is a remix album worthy to add to your collection.” – ReGen Magazine.

“…the album is much more focused than your average remix release. It has also prompted the guest artists to put in a great deal of effort to make the songs something more than they initially were, and that focus transferred to the three new songs as well. Carbon Beauty is the album that I’ve always thought Angelspit should be able to make – the vocals are sarcastic and crass and the music finally compliments them perfectly.” – SPUTNICKMUSIC.COM
“It has not only energy, but possesses a feeling of anger. I’m not only driving where I don’t want to go – I’m going to aim for that pedestrian, too! But it’s not just all rage. This is also well constructed music: well arranged, well performed, and well produced. It’s both 1978 and 2011. That is a good blend of years.”  – MC Mahan Reviews

Carbon Beauty is released through Black Pill Red Pill Records, Digital and Compact Disc [CD] [BPRP18]

Angelspit once again smash through preconceived notions of sound and style with their fourth release, Hello My Name Is. This marks the first full album created by Angelspit’s new full lineup.

Hello My Name Is contains 11 tracks and celebrates the cult of the corporation, which has its own church, its own God and saints; its own rites, tarot, heaven and hell. Angelspit’s only official statement: “Electro. Punk. F##k. You.”

“We have 3 albums and 5 EPs where we have explored and refined the ‘Angelspit sound’, now it’s time for us to create something different, something we’ve never done before.” says Zoog Von Rock, co-founder of Angelspit.

The addition of Chris Kling and The Liar have enhanced Angelspit’s sound and visual output. The album is simultaneously saccharine and brutal, a heady mix of pounding industrial beats, strong guitar riffs and and sweet vocal melodies.

The album was co-produced and mixed by Alan Labiner. “[Alan] is going to do to Electro Punk music what Dr. Dre did to hip-hop: make it AMAZING,” says Zoog.

Mindblowing. Great band, super album. The future sound murderous!”
– Brushvox

…hard, terrific and merciless. The tracks progressively become more muscled and irresistible. ”
– Sideline Magazine
In every aspect, this album is a masterpiece of creativity. The attention to every expression of the presentation, from the placement of sounds, the melodies, the vocals to the very clothes they wear prove that Angelspit are artists for this new age of angst, digital living and protest.
Coma Magazine
There is no doubt that Hello My Name Is is the band’s most accessible release. However catchy the music is, though, it is equally dark, terrifying, and driven by anger….If there was ever a time to listen to Angelspit’s music, now would be the time.” 4.5 Stars – Superb!
– Sputnik Music
Hello My Name Is, like the band itself, is a non-stop audio assault on all things that hold back creativity and freedom of expression.
PROJECT.COM
As catchy as it is disconcerting, as belligerent as it is melodic, the latest album from Angelspit is a full throttle assault on modern society. Hello My Name Is marks another tour de force from a band that remains vigilant in its mission to challenge to the status quo.” 4 Stars
– ReGen Magazine
