Stephanie Davidson from ISN Radio reviews Angelspit’s “The Product”.

The Product is definitely one for fans of the unique Angelspit brand of electro/industrial/cyberpunk/chaos. The lyrics are punchy and brutally awesome in that demented Angelspit way, and I’m already looking forward to the next Angelspit album.”

Angelspit is back! I have been biting my nails into claws waiting for The Product and have finally been able to sink them into these 13 all-new tracks.

Angelspit’s signature sound is raging strong with this release. If you’re unfamiliar with Angelspit’s sound, just imagine a monster locked in a box thumping and thrashing around while slamming out power chords on a guitar distorted by the fires of hell while sometimes smashing its spinal spikes into an analog synth. Angelspit is sexy and sinister and will trigger your transformation into a super villain if you’re not careful.

One of my favourite tracks off The Product is the instrumental Creeper, which to me is the misfit track in this lineup of cohesive sound. While the rest of The Product pounds and thumps, “Creeper”, well, gives you the creeps. It’s what would play in the background of your abduction into an evil carnival and your subsequent dismemberment by things wearing masks. “Walking in the Woods” (featuring Teknocracy) has this eerie horror-story feel as well, with lyrics painting a “Red molasses, sticks and leaves… and bits of skull” kind of picture.

There is a sense of drama to this album that comes through more so than previous releases. The choruses for “Hot Mess”, “Train Wreck”, and “Velocity” in particular lean more towards the dramatic than the in-your-face tracks like “Because God”, “Fight Dirty” (featuring Helalyn Flowers), and “Pretty Dead Boys”. Plus the Underworld soundtrack song, “Watch the Sunrise”, which I’ve been eagerly awaiting to be released by the band.

The Product is definitely one for fans of the unique Angelspit brand of electro/industrial/cyberpunk/chaos. The lyrics are punchy and brutally awesome in that demented Angelspit way, and I’m already looking forward to the next Angelspit album.
