BLURB:
This is a Bit Crusher from HELL. You can (analogue) drive the input AND it’s got a built in analogue clone of an MS-20 Filter.
PLUS, you can choose the order in which you debauch the sound. eg: Pre-amp -> Decimator, Decimator -> Pre-amp, or something else which is RANDOM AND DOOOMESQUE (??)
We love it and use it on vocals (“Grind” Blood Death Ivory), guitars (“Vena Cava” Krankhaus), bleeps and lead synths (“Devilicious” Blood Death Ivory).

PROS:
Sounds like SATAN. Really hurts the sounds, and there’s a bunch of different modes you can torture the sound with. You can put it through the Alienator then patch it into a CV controlled filter to shape it with wet sticky LOVE.

CONS:
The bit crushing has a tenancy of feeding back, so you can’t really use it live. Destroyx used to use the Alienator live when we first started. Many ear drums and PA speakers were shattered…
Another bummer is you can not control the filter with CV…which really sucks because it would be great to really utilise the filter.

HINT:
Put a low volume signal through the Alienator, set the pre-amp to MASSACRE and the Bit-Crusher to “SERIOUSLY HURT THE SOUND”. The quiet sounds make the bit-crusher produce some really cool bleeps’n’random-thingies.
