Claudia Mecklenburg from Dark Music World webzine reviews Angelspit’s CULT OF FAKE.

Angelspit’s “Cult Of Fake” is packed with dance floors explosives. If you’re sitting during these songs, then you have to be a reluctant dancer.

Angelspit – Cult Of Fake
Release Date: June 6, 2016
Label: Negative Gain Productions

Exactly ten years after the release of their debut album “KRANKHAUS”, the Australian band Angelspit released their sixth studio album “Cult Of Fake” 06.06.2016. For this album, Zoog Von Rock launched a successful Kickstarter campaign with help from their fans. Now, not even one year after their last album “Hardcore Pong”, Angelspit unleashes new material on the ears. This is their first release under their new label Negative Gain.

The opener “Thanks For Your Cooperation” comes with fat beats and filthy synth basses, and no foot remains long resting. Followed by the second track “Eat Volts” with it’s slamming beats and lyrics “Everything’s all right – Baby just get tight” whispered directly into the ear! The third track, also called Cult Of Fake, is a cyberpunk number slightly rock elements. This is an ingenious track and easy to dance too. “New Devil” has a more electronic sound. “I Am Trouble” hits with fat beats and massive synth stabs. “Breath” has an interesting 80s sound, and is one of the quieter tracks with soft non-distorted vocals. “Out For Blood” winds the pace up by 200% with hard-hitting beats and vocals! Great number to which you can shake a leg neat. Pulsating beats that make right the mood for “Happy Murderland”. The lyrics and the sound tear it up – they are direct, clear and dangerously catchy! Slower but just as tough is “Sky High” with it’s sleek sound. Disaster Porn” is harder, darker pumps. “On The List, She’s Not” the quietest title of the entire disc. At the end of “Cult of Fake” rounds “My Little Blade” album still perfectly. The chorus is accompanied by a great electronic melody, while the rest of the tracks are accompanied by strong beats.

Conclusion: Angelspit’s “Cult Of Fake” is packed with dance floors explosives. If you’re sitting during these songs, then you have to be a reluctant dancer. The lyrics go directly into the ear and lodge themselves firmly in the brain! I personally did not care for Angelspit when I got the CD for a review: Now they have another fan!
