SONIC SEDUCER REVIEWS CULT OF FAKE

angelspit-cof-0500

Sandra M. Heinzelmann from Sonic Seducer gives Angelspit’s Cult Of Fake a close listen

Overwhelming, accessible and dancey, while at the same time it shines with sonic complexity and careful craftsmanship.
Strong beats and pumping basses driving hook-lines which cover the whole range from soft sounding old school synthesizers to cold and industrial sounding modern machinery.

INTRAVENOUS MAGAZINE REVIEWS CULT OF FAKE

angelspit-cof-0500

The album is locked and loaded with dancefloors firmly in its sight. Yet it retains a deceptively complex construction that sees their signature crunchy electropunk style revisit samples used in earlier recordings and working them into a fresher and more modern sound.
Definitely a must have for industrial fans.

SOUNDSPHEREMAG INTERVIEWS ANGELSPIT

angelspit-cof-0500Dom Smith talks to Zoog about Angelspit’s new album Cult Of Fake

Angelspit was probably one of the first interviews we ever did back in 2008 when we built this thing, so it’s cool to catch up with Zoog in 2016 to talk about the band’s new album, Cult Of Fake. Killer.

I have dug up all the old percussion sounds used on the early albums and used them everywhere on Cult Of Fake. I wanted this album to have the same skeleton, but an updated cyborg body…wow, I just said ‘cyborg’ – no-one uses that word anymore.
-Zoog Von Rock, Angelspit.

DASKLUB REVIEWS CULT OF FAKE

angelspit-cof-0500

A sonically danceable and dark electropunk album which solidifies the band’s unique musical style.

Anthemic and energetic. Cult Of Fake is an impressive release, a worthy addition to Angelspit’s sonic arsenal. It deserves a very high rating for its dancability, intricate composition and strikingly unsettling lyrics which show their timeliness in society today. It’s unlikely that existing fans will be disappointed.
– DASKLUB

Angelspit is set to release their latest full-length studio album,Cult Of Fake, on June 6th, 2016. For the unacquainted, Angelspit is an electropunk group, masterminded by Zoog Von Rock, which hails from Sydney, Australia (the band currently resides in the United States). BRUTAL RESONANCE REVIEWS CULT OF FAKE

angelspit-cof-0500Roxxí Wallace from Brutal Resonance reviews CULT OF FAKE

You can definitely dance to this album, the genius of it lies right there. It’s disarming. Like pop songs that get stuck in your head only for you to find out that the lyrics mean something entirely different than what you thought, Angelspit invades with the promise of having a good time even though these are some of the darkest Angelspit songs ever.

REGEN MAGAZINE GIVES CULT OF FAKE 4.5 STARS

angelspit-cof-0500Regen Magazine’s Ilker Yücel gives CULT OF FAKE 4.5 Stars

With a greater emphasis on melodic hooks and dance beats, Angelspit continues to forge its own path, sounding like no other band, and managing to infuse a little fun along the way.
–  Ilker Yücel, ReGen Magazine

10 years since the band’s full-length debut, Krankhaus, and Angelspit is still cranking out that signature blend of crunchy electronics with an uncompromising in-your-face attitude against banality and societal norms. For this sixth album, Zoog Von Rock called upon the fans for what turned out to be a strikingly successful Kickstarter campaign, and given the lyrical content of Cult of Fake, inspired by numerous political conversations held with fans and drawing on their opinions of the world, it’s perhaps the most fan-centric record Angelspit has yet produced. As well, though the previous album featured numerous collaborations, Cult of Fake is predominantly driven by Von Rock’s singular musical vision, incorporating samples and effects originally utilized on the band’s earlier recordings, ensuring that even after 10 years and six albums, Angelspit retains its unique identity.

Angelspit Signs with Negative Gain for new album

NGPLogo_New-500Angelspit has signed with Negative Gain Productions at its headquarters in Chicago. The new deal adds Angelspit’s new album,  CULT OF FAKE , to Negative Gain’s already strong roster of bands, including The Gothsicles and Mr. Kitty.

Made popular for its driving industrial sound, Angelspit sees the new partnership as a perfect match. “Negative Gain pushes dance acts with an alternative edge, and our new album will fit right in,” says Zoog Von Rock. Already funded by Kickstarter, the album will receive the widespread push it needs thanks to Negative Gain.

“We are always looking at new ways to add great music to our already diverse roster of great artists,” added Roger Jarvis, co-founder of Negative Gain. “You are going to love this album just as much as we do!”

Cult of Fake is Angelspit’s sixth studio album, due June 6, 2016 through Negative Gain. The album uses the harsh industrial percussion sampled from Angelspit’s early albums, now mixed with club destroying beats. Kickstarted by the fans, Cult of Fake is Angelspit’s first album to focus on dance music without sacrificing its established sound.

ANGELSPIT CROWDFUNDS ALBUM IN 24 HOURS!

Fans of Angelspit successfully crowdfunded the band’s newest album CULT OF FAKE in 24 hours. Now Angelspit sets its sights on a US tour.
CULT OF FAKE is Angelspit’s 6th studio album, set to release on June 6, 2016 – the ten year anniversary of Angelspit’s first full length album, KRANKHAUS.
EBM/EDM club-destroying beats smash against Angelspit’s harsh industrial sound on the new 12-track album, crafting a vicious new thumping hybrid, making CULT OF FAKE Angelspit’s first album to focus on dance music.
“I’m always pushing Angelspit’s sound to make something more brutal with a punk rock mentality. This time I’ve made CULT OF FAKE with dance music in mind. I’ve applied dance music production to Angelspit’s sound and I believe this is Angelspit’s best album to date – it’s got a harsh industrial skeleton with a smooth skin graft…this will DESTROY!”
– Zoog Von Rock, Angelspit.
With its Kickstarter goal locked, Angelspit’s next stretch goal is a USA tour.
“It was awesome to make contact with so many supporters during last year’s tour. We have some pretty cool plans this year and the success of the crowd funding will help make them happen. Top of the list is touring the USA.”
Check Angelspit’s KICKSTARTER for more details.
