interviews Angelspit
With Angelspit we have tried to create music which has
a genuine punk edge, in the lyrics, the aggression and the
instrumentation. Even though we are largely an electronic
band we don't want to write clean music, and these influences
have a grungy, dirty edge which we have adopted. We have more
in common with Nirvana than Covenant in sound and in concept
because we're trying to make aggressive, hell raising turbulent
music which reflects our world.

- KRANKHAUS
Wenn im anglophonen Sprachraum die deutsche Sprache
bemüht wird, dann vermutlich, weil das deutsche böse und
nach wahnsinnigem Forscher klingt. Eine Folge von Mary Wollstonecraft-Shellys
"Frankenstein"?
Im Falle von ANGELSPITs "Krankhaus" jedenfalls scheint
die Vermutung zutreffend. Den optisch wie musikalisch ansprechenden
Output der beiden Australier mag man als Cyperpunk-Industrial-Elektro-Gothic
bezeichnen, wenn man mag. Was man sich darunter vorstellen kann,
beschreiben die beiden ganz treffend mit der Zeile "...god
made me a cannibal to fix problems like
you..." aus dem Titel "100%" "Krankhaus"
ist rotzig, ohne-Umschweife-auf-den-Punkt und erinnert ein wenig
an Marilyn Mansons "Antichrist Superstar"- Album (vergleiche
hierzu das Bild zum Lied "Vena Cava" auf
angelspit.net). Thematisch zeigt man sich offen für Horror
im allgemeinen und medizinische Experimente im speziellen, wie Liedtitel
der Art "A la Mort", "Vena Cava", "Flesh
stitched onto a Frame" und "Scars and Stripes" nahelegen.
In der Summe 14 Tracks die eine nähere Betrachtung wert sind.
