JUICY
ZooG's notes on the creation of the track "Juicy"

This track is perfect sleaze. LOVE IT.

It’s bass driven. The bass is basically EVERYTHING in the MIDDLE FINGER OF GOD (our modular synth) going hell-for-leather, then being fed into the Alienator. The Alienator was set to ‘gritty-bit crunchy’ mode with a little distortion. This was then fed into a valve distortion to re-fatten it.
Interesting point: Analogue synths produce noise…even when they’re not producing a note. During recording this noise was (unknown to us) being fed into the Alienator and produced the crackling fuzzy random sounds. We cut this out of the mix to help clean the sound up...but decided that it sounded SO COOL so we left it in the entire song – noisy, hissy, shitty…LOVE IT!

This fuzzy random shit was cut up and processed to become percussion and bleeps though out the track.

The lyrics in this are inspired by the actual concept of Krankhaus (The Poker Game).

The Guitars are the handy work of Graeme. We cut these so there was no noise between the notes – this way they sounded punchy and solid, plus they made space for the big synth bass to peak through. The guitars are designed to sneak up on you – the track starts electro and mechanical end ends quite heavy, we wanted it to stealthily grab hold of the listener and ‘get inside them’.
